Decision to not file Review Appeals and SLPs in 63 cases: CBEC

The Central Board of Excise and Customs vide Circular No. 1063/02/2018-CX dated February 16, 2018 has provided a compilation of 63 orders of Supreme Court, High Courts and CESTAT accepted by the department and on which no review petitions, Special Leave Petition (SLPs) have been filed.

The circular consists of 63 orders in total in order to reduce litigations so that the cases pending in the field can be decided with speed and efficiency, if the questions of law or facts involved are identical.

In 14 of these Orders, the Hon’ble High Courts have decided various questions of law. In the rest 49 Orders, the Hon’ble High Courts have delivered judgments on the basis of some settled case law or have decided points of facts or have dismissed the appeal on monetary grounds.
