Background:
Earlier, vide Notification No. 49/2017-Customs (ADD) dated October 17, 2017 Anti-dumping duty was imposed on import of “Colour coated/pre-painted flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel” (“subject goods”), falling under headings 7210, 7212, 7225 or 7226 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 originating in, or exported from the People’s Republic of China and European Union (“subject countries”), and imported into India.
The Anti-dumping duty imposed above was for a period of five years commencing from the date of imposition of the provisional anti-dumping duty, i.e. January 11, 2017.
Notification:
Now, vide Notification No. 53/2021-Customs (ADD) dated September 29, 2021 the period of imposition of Anti-dumping duty on subject goods originating in, or exported from subject countries is further extended till March 31, 2022 unless revoked, superseded or amended earlier.
