The CBIC vide Notification No. 34/2022-Customs dated June 30, 2022 has issued the exemption of the Social Welfare Surcharge leviable under the Section 110 of the Finance Act, on the import of all the goods falling under heading 7108 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (i.e. Gold (including gold plated with platinum) unwrought or in semi-manufactured forms, or in powder form).
