The CBIC vide Notification No. 03/2023-Customs (N.T.) dated January 11, 2023 has issued ‘the Customs (Assistance in Value Declaration of Identified Imported Goods) Rules, 2023’ to notify the rules w.r.t. identification and examination of imported goods, in order to address the menace of undervalued imports and to prescribe the manner and procedure regarding the constitution of the Screening/ Evaluation Committee, sources for examining cases for identified goods, examination by Screening/ Evaluation Committee, recommendation of screening committee procedure in respect of identified goods etc., w.e.f. February 11, 2023.
