DGFT extends deadline for Halal Certification in Meat Industry to April 2024

The DGFT vide Notification No. 41/2023 dated October 27, 2023, has extended the time period for the accreditation of the Halal Certification Bodies and the registration of Export Units related to the streamlining of the Halal Certification Process for Meat and Meat Products. This extension is for an additional six months, bringing the new deadline to April 05, 2024.

The Central Government, in exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992), as amended, read with Para 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, in partial modification of Notification No. 03/2023 dated April 06, 2023, hereby extends the time period, for both accreditation of Halal Certification Bodies as well as for registration of export units, for a further period of six months i.e., up to April 05, 2024.

Effect of this Notification:

Time period for accreditation of Halal Certification Bodies and registration of Export Units have been extended by a period of six months i.e., up to April 05, 2024.
