The DGFT vide Notification No. 55/2015-2020, dated January 7, 2021 has issued certain amendment in import policy to revise the existing policy from prohibited to free and condition of items classified under Chapter 41 of ITC (HS), 2017, Schedule – l (Import Policy) i.e., ‘raw hides and skins (other than furskins) and leather’ and Chapter 43 of ITC (HS), 2017, Schedule – l (Import Policy), i.e., ‘furskins and artificial fur, manufactures’ in following manner:

Further, added a new condition as Policy Condition No. 4 in Chapter 41 and Condition No. 3 in Chapter 43 of ITC (HS), 2017, Schedule – I (Import Policy), that imports are subject to compliance with the health protocol for import of hides and skin or sanitary conditions as may be prescribed from time to time by Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
