In a major boost for ease of doing business, the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has launched Single Window Interface for Facilitating Trade (SWIFT) which will enable the Importers electronically lodge their customs clearance documents at a single point.
It is a Single window system to obtain permission from regulatory agencies such as Animal Quarantine, Drug Controller and Textile Committee online.
SWIFT integrates regulatory requirements on a common platform, thereby minimising duplicity and cost of compliance.
