Govt. has further extended period of anti-dumping duty on imports of “Jute Yarn/Twine, Hessian fabric, and Jute sacking bags” from Bangladesh and Nepal

Background:

Earlier, vide Notification No. 01/2017-Customs (ADD) dated January 05, 2017 Anti-dumping duty was imposed on import of “Jute Yarn/Twine (multiple folded/cabled and single), Hessian fabric, and Jute sacking bags” (“subject goods”), falling under headings 5307, 5310, 5607 or 6305 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 originating in, or exported from Bangladesh and Nepal (“subject countries”), and imported into India.

The Anti-dumping duty imposed above is applicable for a period of five years.

Notification:

Now, Vide Notification No. 58/2021-Customs (ADD) dated October 01, 2021 the period of imposition of Anti-dumping duty on subject goods originating in, or exported from subject country is further extended till May 31, 2022 unless revoked, superseded or amended earlier.
