The Commissioner of Customs Mumbai, Nhava Sheva vide Public Notice No. 60/2020 dated April 23, 2020 has laid down the procedure for assessment in cases of non-submission of Original Country of Origin Certificates by the Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers, etc. The Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers, and all other stakeholders are invited to the Public Notice No. 46/2020 dated 07.04.2020 of JNCH on the above-mentioned subject.
2. Whereas, in terms of Para 5 of Public Notice No. 46/2020, the importers are required to submit proper Bond on or before 07.05.2020. However, in view of CBIC Circular No. 21/2020-Customs dated 21.04.2020, it has been decided to further extend the facility of accepting undertaking in lieu of Bond for the period till 15.05.2020. Consequently, the date of submission of proper bond in lieu of which the undertaking is being temporarily accepted is extended till 30.05.2020.
3. Furthermore, it has also been decided that, in addition to submission of undertaking in lieu of Bond through registered email of the IEC holder or their authorized Customs Broker, the said undertaking must be uploaded on e-Sanchit.
4. With the exception of the above, all other conditions mentioned in Public Notice No. 46/2020 dated 07.04.2020 stand unaltered.
5. The difficulty, if any, faced in the implementation of the said Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner of Customs (Appraising Main, Import) through email on appraisingmain.jnch@gov.in.
6. Action to be taken in terms of decisions conveyed in this Public Notice should be considered as a Standing Order for the purpose of officers.
