Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Pramod Chandra Mody said the revised estimate for direct tax collection this year is ₹9.05 lakh crore, out of which ₹6.63 lakh crore, have been collected.
“The revised estimate for direct tax collection this year is ₹9.05 lakh crore, out of which we have collected ₹6.63 lakh crores. I am very confident that we will achieve the target,” said Mody.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2021 on February 01. This is the first budget after the Covid-19 pandemic and the ninth one under the Modi government. The Union Budget 2021 was also unique as it was the first paperless budget.
