Traders’ body, Gujarat Traders’ Federation (GTF), on Thursday made a representation before the chief minister, seeking relief in tax and electricity expenses. Retailers and traders faced immense losses due to restrictions imposed by the state government over the past fortnight due to which they were forced to keep their shops shut. “We have asked the state government to provide subsidy in property tax payments, in Goods and Services Tax (GST) payments and also in electricity bills by reducing charges levied,” said Jayendra Tanna, president, GTF.
A similar representation was also made by another traders’ body seeking subsidised electricity charges.
