The Group of Ministers (GoM) may suggest different valuation mechanism for GST on games of skill and chance. GoM is likely to suggest 28% GST for online gaming, horse racing, and casinos. Games of skill may be taxed at 28% for the platform charges, excluding the winning pot. Casinos may be considered as game of chance and be taxed at 28% on face value – entry fee and winning pot. GoM may also suggest definitions to determine online games under skill and chance. Definition may clarify if an online game is of skill or chance based on its structure, criteria of playing. GoM may suggest size of pot, level of players determine each online game as based on skill or chance.
