The Gujarat Traders Federation (GTF) on Friday wrote to PM Narendra Modi over the Goods and Services Tax Bill.
With reference to provisions under the eWayBill, the federation has questioned mobile check posts across the country, which the federation claims, increases ‘tax terrorism’.
GTF representatives have also held that checking at multiple levels will lead to wastage of resources and make the process more time-consuming.
The federation has also questioned the real-time entry of each invoice at a time when dealers are already tackling several compliance-related issues, and said that since the system is new, implementation will take time. The situation will be worse for registered dealers whose turnovers are high, the federation said.
