The sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested a tax assistant of the Income tax department red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 at the Industrial township Parwanoo.
A team of CBI following a complaint of the management of a business firm laid a trap and arrested the tax assistant Manish Bedi red handed. The investigations made by the sleuths revealed that the accused Manish Bedi was currently posted in the Investigation Wing of the department and was demanding bribe money from the complainant in lieu of executing the work for a long. The accused was adopting the dilly dallying tactics to harass the complainant who finally complained to CBI officials at Shimla who nabbed the accused Manish Bedi. A case has been registered under the prevention of corruption Act.
