The GST Council in its 31st meeting held today in Delhi, has made many important changes in rates of goods and services, along with amny other policy changes and recommendations.
Inter-alia, one of the most important recommendation is regarding further extension of due date for furnishing the annual return in FORM GSTR-9 (for normal taxpayers), FORM GSTR-9A (for composition suppliers) and reconciliation statement in FORM GSTR-9C for the Financial Year 2017 – 2018 till June 30, 2019. Further, the new return filing system has been proposed to be introduced on trial basis from April 01, 2019 and made mandatory from July 1, 2019.
The requisite Notifications/ Circulars for implementing the above recommendations of the GST Council shall be issued shortly.
